Why The Edit?

Planning a trip can be exciting — but also time-consuming, with endless tabs and options. Even for experienced travellers, there’s always that thought: could this be even better?

That’s why I created The Edit. Think of it as an extra step in your planning: access to trusted partners, competitive rates, and honest advice to help make strong plans stronger. My goal? To remove the FOMO from travel planning.

And this is only the start. I’m building tools to help guide travel planning choices and a space where travellers can share itineraries, inspiration, and discoveries. Take a look at the Travel Quiz for some extra help with trip inspiration.

If the plans for The Edit sound interesting to you, I’d love to hear any feedback and suggestions from you at hello@edit.travel

In the meantime, please sign up to keep up to date as things develop and follow The Edit on Instagram and in our Journal section as we kick off content for those very soon.

Thanks for your support!

FAQs

What can I book through The Edit?

Flights, hotels, villas, cruises, tours, tickets — and more. If I don’t know the answer to your travel query myself, I can access it through trusted partners.

Are you ATOL protected?

Yes. Please note, ATOL protection applies to package holidays when a flight and other major element are purchased at the same time. I will advise the status of ATOL protection at every quote and whether it is provided by JLT Group or another company providing the holiday (such as Kuoni or Jet2).

What are the key differences between an independent agent and a regular online or high street agency?

My independence means I’m not tied to suppliers, have considerable pricing/buying flexibility, can spend as much time with clients before, during and after a booking as I choose and I am not restricted to 9-5. Most importantly in my view, I remain the sole point of contact for clients throughout.

I want to use my airline/hotel loyalty points in combination with my hotel/flight. Can you assist with that?

I will happily provide some tips on how to build these into your travel plans. You can then go on to book them yourself and I can assist with any other arrangements. I can also advise which products will earn loyalty points.

What happens if my flights are changed, cancelled or disrupted?

If the airline makes changes well before you are due to travel, I will liaise with you and the airline to organise a replacement. If the disruption takes place during the journey, your best first port of call is the airline’s operations team at the airport who will be trying to make arrangements for passengers. I can also support by contacting the airline and looking at alternatives. Once you return, I can also advise on making any compensation claims.

I have arrived at my hotel and I am not happy with the room. What should I do?

Your best first port of call is the hotel’s on site team who can resolve this most quickly. If this is not resolved to your satisfaction, let me know and I can also contact the hotel.

Do you charge a fee?

There’s no fee for asking for advice or quotes. Pricing of travel products depends on the trip and services booked, but my goal is always to give you better value than you could find on your own.

Isn’t your buying power much smaller than going direct or to bigger agencies?

There are a few reasons why I can provide extremely competitive pricing. Firstly, by being part of the JLT Group, I benefit from Group buying power and strong industry partnerships. This means access to very competitive rates. Secondly, because I do not have the cost overheads of a larger agency, I am able to pass this benefit on to clients.

I already have a quote, will you price match?

It depends - if you send the details of what you are planning to book to hello@edit.travel I can provide a quote.

I don’t live in the UK, can I book with you?

Yes, I serve clients from anywhere. Quotes will generally be in GBP. All customers are responsible for ensuring they have the correct visa/entry requirements for their travel. I can provide details and links to help with this.

Do I have to pay in full up- front or can I just pay a deposit?

It depends. For some holidays, the full balance does not need to be taken up front and all of this will be made clear in the quote.

I have a completely open brief, where do we start?

That’s exciting! We do need to narrow down the options though. I’ll first ask you to use our AI-driven Travel Matchmaker to help provide you with some inspiration and ideas. See which of those float your boat, and I can work on quotes for a few focussed choices.

Do you do flight online check-in for travellers?

If there are any accessibility concerns or questions when it comes to check-in, I am happy to help. Otherwise, it’s much simpler and easier for the traveller to complete the airport formalities, including the relevant security declarations.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major cards accepted, including Visa, Mastercard and Amex.
